Isabel cycled for charity
Isabel Debecker is one of 3.086 enthusiastic cyclists who participated in Bike for Life (1 - 24th September). The cycling for charity campaign motivated the shop manager to cycle more often. "I was happy to ride the extra mile for the good cause," she says.
"I like to cycle to work, but mainly when the weather is good," Isabel laughs. "I was happy to ride the extra mile for a good cause! I discovered Bike for Life via a message on the Facebook page for the personnel of Schoenen Torfs. I also saw that my colleagues enjoyed cycling for a good cause."
Bike challenges
"We often take part in a cycling campaign. Schoenen Torfs organises a challenge every month. In June, we were challenged to cycle for at least three days every week," says Isabel. "Three winners were drawn and received a gift voucher."
Easy with the e-bike
Isabel grinds down the rolling 18 kilometres there and back from Boutersem with a smile thanks to her e-bike with Bosch Active Line drive. "I cycle with an e-bike for convenience. I cover the distance without arriving at work exhausted and sweaty. I consciously chose a bicycle with a battery from Bosch eBike Systems. It lasts a long time and I have every confidence in the brand.
Bosch eBike Systems supports Bike for Life
Vineeta Diels Marketing Manager Bosch eBike Systems Benelux: "We are proud to support Bike for Life. We like to motivate as many people as possible like Isabel to take the bike for daily rides to the office, the supermarket or wherever. We are also happy to see that more and more people are aware of all the benefits of switching to an (e)bike."
Did you already know the extent to which cycling is good for ...
.. .your health? According to the World Health Organisation, you should get between 150 and 300 minutes of moderate intensity exercise per week for a healthy lifestyle. Cycle around on an e-bike every day and you'll actually reach, or maybe even exceed, that 150-minute mark!
... your mental well-being? Cycling is fun. Enjoying the surroundings, the wind at your back and the flow of your pedals. When asked why cycling is so important to them, several sportsmen and women from the world of cycling have answered precisely that: it gives you wings and lets you enjoy life. They know better than anyone how regular cycling gives your mental energy a boost and how nice it is to be able to experience the world from the saddle every day.
... the climate? Of course, cycling on a normal bicycle does not cause any emissions, but did you know that e-biking is also very sustainable? An e-bike has an average emission of 2 grams of CO2 per kilometre, a car more than 100 grams, an enormous difference for the planet and our living environment. Sustainable transport is of great importance for our future and e-bikes can easily contribute to this, with a big impact.
So what are you waiting for?
Hop on your bike to work, just like the 2930 participants of Bike for Life.
